We are learning about sound in science. Archie

We went outside, sat really quietly, and listened to all the different noises we could here. Daniel.

Then we learnt about sound effects. In groups, we created our own sound effects. The rest of the class then tried to guess what it was. Cole

We have gone on to learn about how sound travels. We wondered whether sound can travel through solids. To investigate this we create string telephones. First we tested them out in the classroom, then we went outside to see if we could pass a message across the yard using just our string telephones. They didn't work perfectly but we did discover sound can travel through solids, and we had lots of fun in the process.

In science we are learning about electricity.

We have looked at how to make an electrical circuit to light a bulb or make a motor run. Then we went on to explore how different objects affect a circuit. We learnt that some materials are conductors and allow the electricity to travel through, while others are insulators and these prevent the electricity from travelling.
