Year 5/6 Girls' Football

School Games Finals

Following on from the success of the girls' team in the league, they qualified to represent Durham School Sports Partnership at the School Games Finals - what an achievement!

It was a hugely competitive event and the girls did themselves proud by working well as a team and coming 4th! We're so proud of the team!

To make their day even better, they also met Chris Cook (former Olympic swimmer) who has previously been in to school. He took time to sign the girls' certificates for them - a real keep-sake!

The Girls' Football team won the league!!!

Here's Hannah and Rebecca's round up of the action:

On Thursday me and a few other girls from year 5 and 6 went to Meadow Field to play football. The first game we played St Michael's and won 3-0, Hannah scored 3,  then we played Shincliffe and won 2-0, Grace scored 2 and Hannah scored a dis allowed goal. Next we played Gilesgate, Hannah scored 1 but then a girl from Gilesgate scored 2 really good goals. and we lost 2-1. - Becca Jones

The next game we drew 0-0 and the last game we lost 4-0! But in the end we all tried our best and we came out 4th.We also got a medal. - Hannah Windsor

This year's girl's football team is proving to be very successful.

The girls show great team spirit and show great determination. They have qualified for the finals of the County Competition and are currently 2nd place in the league.
