Science

Our Science curriculum is a journey of discovery that proves "with God all things are possible" by revealing the intricate laws and limitless wonders of the natural world. We cultivate wisdom as pupils use the scientific method to question, test, and understand the complex systems that sustain life and the universe. It takes great courage to embrace the unknown, to challenge existing ideas through rigorous enquiry, and to remain resilient when experiments do not yield the expected results. This hands-on exploration ignites a profound sense of joy, as every "eureka moment" fills children with awe and wonder, inspiring them to see themselves as the future innovators and stewards of a world where scientific discovery makes the impossible a reality.

Our aims in teaching science are that all children will: -

• Have the ability to think independently and raise questions about working scientifically and the knowledge and skills that it brings;

• Be Confident and competent in the full range of practical skills, taking the initiative in, for example, planning and carrying out scientific investigations;

• Demonstrate excellent scientific knowledge and understanding which is demonstrated in written and verbal explanations, solving challenging problems and reporting scientific findings;

• Demonstrate high levels of originality, imagination or innovation in the application of skills;

• Have the ability to undertake practical work in a variety of contexts, including fieldwork;

• A passion for science and its application in past, present and future technologies.
