Transition
There are robust procedures in place for transition between Newton Hall Infants’ School and ourselves. We also have pupils who transfer to us from other schools and they are, of course, always fully included and involved in the transition events. At the end of Year 6, effective transition arrangements also provide pupils with a seamless transfer to their chosen secondary school.
These arrangements have historically been very successful, and in all cases have ensured a smooth transition from one phase to another. Information regarding these arrangements can be accessed via the school office.
In respect of pupils identified as SEND, additional arrangements are put in place to ensure a smooth transition. These include small group or individual visits to the new school, discussions between SENCOs, class teachers and parents and pupils a term prior to transition, and more frequent visits to the site, in the hope of overcoming any additional anxieties.
